Drugi koncert ovosezonskog Jazz ciklusa Lisinski/HDS održat će se u nedjelju, 20. veljače. Nastupit će Brussels Jazz Orchestra uz pjevače Mariu Joao i Davida Linxa.

The success story of the folk opera "Porgy and Bess" is unequalled - in recent history there are few musical projects that have produced as many spin-offs as George Gershwin's masterpiece "Porgy & Bess". Not surprising - countless artists have been inspired by this opera's musical wealth and universal theme.
"Changing Faces", the first collaboration between David Linx and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra, was an artistic success story: the album and performances of this production were unanimously and highly praised by the international press.
The time has come for Linx and the BJO to work on a new project and the chosen theme is the opera "Porgy & Bess" with David Linx in the role of Porgy and the Portugese singer Maria Joao as Bess: "A Different Porgy, another Bess".
"Summertime" and "It ain't necessarily so" are the most well known songs from "Porgy & Bess". There are however quite a number of treasures to be found on the original full three hour version. David and the BJO have put together an 'alternative' song list, favoring some of the less well known pieces, but not leaving out the most famous ones.
David Linx and the Brussels Jazz Orchestra brought together an international team of arrangers to adapt the chosen songs specifically for the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. The team is made up of Lode Mertens (BEL), Patrice Foudon (FRA), Pierre Bertrand (FRA), Gyuri Spies (BEL), Jan Wessels (NLD), Frank Vaganée (BEL), Mario Laginha (PRT), Sherisse Rogers (USA), Dieter Limbourg (BEL), Klas Lindquist (SWE) and Gonzalo Rubalcaba (CUB).
"A different Porgy, Another Bess" will be a project with an international impact and certainly will not go unnoticed.
